Silica (silicon dioxide, SiO₂) is one of the most abundant compounds in the Earth’s crust, forming the basis of quartz, sand, and many rocks and minerals. Resylica® technology features use of Modified Polyether Trisiloxane based superspreading surfactants as fast acting insecticides effecting a physical mode of action for insect knockdown. The beauty of Resylica® technology is that once sprayed the Solodrop® Trisiloxane undergoes Hydrosilyation and the resulting product Trimethysilanol is eliminated in soil by adsorption and oxidation by OH radicals to give finally Silica. That’s why we call it Resylica®.
The mechanism is novel, this groundbreaking technology uses ultra-low surface tension compounds to cover the insect body and effect rapid knockdown by suffocation and dehydration. Technology is useful for broad range of pests in household and agriculture setup.
Classic synthetic chemistry product with low regulatory burden.
Intellectual property is secured in United States, India and other key markets, exclusively owned by us and ready to be licensed.
Product is used across Household, Garden and Agricultural pests and can be formulated as more than 100 product categories.
Structurally close to an already approved compound by regulatory bodies like the US EPA as an “inert ingredient” (surfactant/adjuvant) used in pesticide and animal treatment formulations
Chemically safe for use around household and safe for humans, pets and pollinators.
The product has no smell of its own and is a water-soluble oligomer that leaves no marks or stains after evaporation of solvents on floor, walls, textile or other surfaces.
Direct-spray knockdown tests were conducted on nine household pests, while agricultural field studies have been conducted on two crops to date: tomato and brinjal. The results are available for scientific review.
Resylica® belongs to the IRAC UNM (Non-Specific Mechanical and Physical Disruptors) category. It acts through a unique physical mechanism that directly disrupts the insect’s ability to respire, providing an innovative approach to pest control.
